Dr. Templeton wasnt exactly sure why he went looking for Chitty that overcast morning. He hadnt seen the demented young toymaker in a while, and he couldnt help but worry about her. Her, and almost every other villain in Gotham no older then twenty years old. He had no idea how one city could hold so many problems
but it did. Dr. Templeton soon found himself in a district of Gotham filled with warehouses; he knew that Chitty hid herself within one of the larger ones near the Harbor. He walked through the labyrinth of large ominous warehouses until he came to the one he was looking for. To him the place seemed deserted, but he knocked loudly on the door just in case
no sound came from inside.
Perhaps she is out on a raid of some sort. He muttered to himself, he was turning to leave when he suddenly noticed something. A familiar figure was sitting out on one of the many docks. He could recognize that big brown hat and wild red hair almost anywhere. He smirked to himself as he walked over to Chitty.
Good Morning Chitty. He called out; he frowned slightly when Chitty didnt turn around at the sound of his voice. He walked right beside the sitting girl and looked down at her. He noted that she seemed to be staring, searching, up into the sky above. Dr. Templeton frowned at this strange behavior, he worried for a brief moment if Chitty wasnt exactly herself
.but no
her eyes werent glazed over in any way, they were just searching. He found himself looking up as well, wondering what on Earth the child could be searching for.
Suddenly a little gasp of glee came from the girl and she shot an arm up into the sky and pointed triumphantly, grinning from ear to ear.
Blue Sky!! she announced I win!! Dr. Templeton blinked in surprise at this sudden outburst.
What kind of game is this? He said out loud before he realized it. The sitting girl seemed to have heard him that time and looked up at him. At first she blinked, as if realizing he was there
then gave him her infamous grin.
Hey Dr. T!! I was just playing an old game! And I won! See? She pointed at the sky again, Dr. Templeton looked up and he too saw a tiny pocket of blue sky peeking from the dark clouds above. As he stared at it the girl started to explain her game.
My family used to play it all the time! Whenever it was really cloudy or right after a rainstorm
we would look up in the sky and see who could spot the first bit of blue sky. If you did you were supposed to announce it really quick before someone else spotted it! She grinned up at him, and he smiled in return.
It is a very interesting game
but
you are playing with no one. He pointed out, the girl shrugged.
I know, its a good game to play when I am feeling down
or bored
finding blue sky is much easier then finding a silver lining! Because to me a silver lining just looks like the rest of the grey! Chi! Chi! Chi! She started swinging her legs over the dock, Dr. Templeton looked up at the sky again, just to see the tiny bit of blue sky disappear once again into the grey.
Darn, Said Chitty Better start looking again.
May I join you? Dr. Templeton asked politely.
Of course you can!! Chitty sang out, she shuffled to the side to give the man room to sit down beside her. Thankfully the tide was out and his feet did not get wet. Both him and the girl started peering into the gloomy sky, searching for a speck of blue.
